My recent trip to Nashville

On Saturday, January 24, 2009, I had to travel to Nashville.  On Friday night, my father had a massive heart attack.  When I got the the VA Hospital that Saturday night, he looked so much better than I expected.  This was the first time I had seen my dad in 3 to 4 years.  Both my sister and I spent about 2 to 3 hours Saturday and Sunday with him.  He doesn’t believe that he had a heart attack, but I think that is because he has dementia.

I talked to his doctor today before I came back to Mississippi.  He told me that my dad’s main artery was blocked and he had 3 stints put in.  He had moderate damage to his heart as well.  He will be at the VA until Wednesday and then he will go back to the nursing home.

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time.  I really felt them and have had peace during this whole situation.

Here I go again…

Troy and I talked tonight about me losing weight again.  I know that I have to do this, but I haven’t been motivated to do it.  So now we have come up with a new plan.  I will pay for it out of money that I earn keeping the nursery at church.  When I reach the first goal of 180 pounds, Troy will get my first gift.  When I reach my goal weight, he will get my big gift.  So…. Weight Watchers, here I come again!!!!

Update

I know that I haven’t written in a while, but hey, I’m a busy mom with tons of stuff going on.  It’s Christmas time around here, and I have to go and get presents for everyone in the family.  Not sure what I’m going to get for people, but I’m trying.

This week was crazy.  We had snow in Mississippi.  I couldn’t believe it.  The thing is, the boys got out of school early on Thursday because of it, and they were out all day Friday.  Never thought I would say that the kids got out for snow in Mississippi, but they did.

Last night, Troy took Ryan to the deer camp.  Troy really wants Ryan to get his first deer this year, and they are trying really hard for this to happen.  Deanna went to spend the night with Carol – her best bud in the world, and Bryce and I rented some movies and just chilled at the house.

Not sure what is in store for today.  I did get the Christmas cards out, and that will make Troy happy.  Nothing is planned but just to have fun with Bryce.

Have a wonderful day!
