Chem Port?

A lot of people have asked me about Ryan’s chem port. I must admit that I knew nothing about them before this experience. I happened across a video today that another parent made to help their family know what it was all about. Hope you enjoy.

The NUMBING cream (EMLA) is awesome and I’m so glad someone told us a while back to use Glad Press-N-Seal because Ryan tends to break out from the tape. Accessing the port still hurts, but so much easier than the alternatives.

Thanks and God Bless!

ARUGH!

Well, we are now home two days and the challenges have started. Bryce’s eye started swelling yesterday and Deanna started complaining of an ear ache. Victoria took them both to the doctor this morning. Turns out that Deanna has another ear infection and Bryce has a staph infection around his eye. Deanna has to get shots the next three days in a row and Bryce has to take some strong antibiotics. If the swelling in his eye doesn’t go down quickly, they are going to admit him to the hospital for some IV antibiotics.

We have been keeping the younger two away from Ryan of course, but are going to have to do something to help cross infections. Why does everyone have to get sick at the same time?!? Ryan is feeling great right now. I even put a mask on him and took him to school for a few minutes this morning. He loved seeing his classmates and getting to talk to them.

Please pray that Bryce and Deanna get over their sickness and that Ryan continues to have a good and healthy time at home and that Victoria and I don’t kill each other in dealing with the situations! :-)

God Bless.

Home for Christmas

On Christmas morning, we were woken up by the pitter patter of little feet and shouts of “Santa came! Santa came!”  My mom always talked about how much she liked our waking her up on Christmas morning and the excitement in our voices.  I now know what she is talking about. :-)

After opening presents which were highlighted by a Rip Stick for Ryan, Nintendo DS games for Bryce, and a Disney Princesses bike for Deanna, we packed up and headed to Tennessee.  We did a lot of running around and visiting and while it is great to see everyone it is also VERY tiring.  We made it home and are now beginning to unpack and take down the Christmas decorations.

As we start 2009, my prayers are that our family will be able to grow closer together as we grow closer to our Lord Jesus.

Merry Christmas 2008

We sent a lot of Christmas cards, but didn’t get everyone.

Regarding the tree, some of our “friends” from church decorated our yard with candy canes and the beautiful purple tree shown above.  It came with lights and the drink umbrella ornaments.  The entire album of pictures can be found here. :-)

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.”

Merry Christmas everyone and have a Blessed New Year.

Busy day today

Today was a busy day.  I had to get Deanna to school, then go to Bryce’s class to help with a center.  After that I had to go and buy awards for the Cub Scouts, get Deanna, run to Kroger to get supplies for this weekend, and start packing up for a trip to the deer camp.  Long day, but it was great!

Ryan’s American Memorial Project

For Ryan’s American Memorial Project, he decided he wanted to do the Lincoln Memorial.  He did the majority of the work himself, and received a grade of 100 on it.

Can you tell which is the monument and which is the project?

Good Job Ryan!!
