8-19 update
So much has happened the past couple of weeks, and all of it has been good.
Ryan had an application sent in to the Make-a-Wish Foundation while he was in the hospital. They called the week before school started to let us know that Ryan had a sponsor and that his wish was going to be fulfilled. His wish was to go on a Disney cruise. I don’t have all the details on it yet, but he is so excited about it.
The first day of school was August 10, and Ryan also had procedures that morning. Troy took Ryan to the hospital and I took Bryce and Deanna to school. It was bittersweet for me as now all of the kids are in elementary school. When Ryan got home from his procedures, he wanted to go to school. So Troy and I took him. Everyone at the school was so glad to see him. Of course I took the first day of school pictures. Enjoy!
Now I know everyone has been wanting to see the pictures from Ryan’s 9th birthday party. Well, the wait is over. Yohan Pamudji, a good friend, was so kind to take the pictures (Thanks again, Yohan!). Enjoy these as well.
The week before school starts and other things…
Oh my. It’s that time again – school starts next Monday. I can’t believe it – all of my babies will be in school this year! Deanna starts Kindergarten, and she will have the same teacher as Bryce did last year. Bryce will be in first grade, and I’m not sure how he’s going to do (he’s the most stubborn child I have – wonder who he gets it from). Ryan will be in forth grade, and the sad part is he will miss the first day of school. He is going to have to start his three-month evaluation that day, but he will be there the second day of school. I think he is looking forward to it considering he hasn’t attended a class since February 2!
The trip to Tennessee was fun and eventful. The first day we were there I fell and dislocated my thumb and found out something. All this time I thought I had never broken a bone when in fact I broke one of the bones in my thumb the last time I dislocated it. Go figure! I can now say I have broken a bone.
All the kids had a great time seeing the family, and I think the family had a great time seeing them. They got to play with cousins and go to an amusement park and lots of chocolate milk to drink. Because of my thumb, I didn’t get to take a lot of pictures, but I will try to post some of the ones I did take.
Several things for the prayer list:
- Please pray that the three-month evaluation will go smoothly as the scans and tests will take place over 3 different days.
- Please pray for a little boy at the hospital. He has the same cancer as Ryan did and is having some complications.
- Please pray for Xavian Hall as he is back in the hospital for the forth round of chemo. Separation is hard on the family with Xavian and one parent in the hospital and Dante and the other parent at home.
- Please pray for Mandy Moore. She had a blot clot on her brain removed last night. The doctors are hopeful that medications will take care of what they couldn’t remove. I have not heard anything this morning on her condition, but I will let everyone know when I do.
UPDATE: Mandy has gone back to surgery because her brain is still swelling from bleeding they can’t find. They are going to remove two pieces of her skull to relieve the pressure. The surgery should take about 4 hours. Will let everyone know when I hear something else.
